Mother's Day: Nolechek's Favorite Brunch Ideas
If you’re planning on seeing Mom this weekend, we've got some great ideas for an unforgettable, homemade Mother’s Day Brunch made with some of our favorite breakfast meats. Whether your mom loves a light, savory quiche or is more of a pancakes-and-bacon woman, we've got the recipe ideas that you’re looking for.
Hickory Smoked Bacon & Gouda Cheese Quiche
A classic brunch for mom: Quiche feels like the breakfast that we all forgot, but it’s practically perfect: low-carb (leave the crust off for a keto quiche), most are keto lifestyle-friendly if you ditch the crust, and who doesn’t like forkfuls of fresh eggs with bits of savory, smoked bacon in each bite? We like our quiche with fried bites of Nolechek’s Classic Hickory Smoked Bacon and melty chunks of Wisconsin-made Marieke Plain Young Gouda Cheese, plus a good handful of diced green onions, spinach, and lots of black pepper, for good measure.
If mom’s not keto, quiche is lovely with some fresh-cut fruit served on the side.
Full “English” (well, almost) Breakfast
Does a huge plate of EVERYTHING ON EARTH sound like something your mom would like? We definitely know some moms who would go this route. A full breakfast usually includes back bacon (our Hickory Smoked Butt Bacon is very comparable!), fried sausages (we have plenty), and grilled tomato slices, fried mushrooms, scrambled eggs, buttered bread or toast, and baked beans. On the bean end of things, you can look up a special British Baked Bean recipe or just grab a can of your favorite; it’s up to you!
Smoky, Cheesy Breakfast Bake
This is comfort food for the morning meal: A huge, warm pan of baked eggs, bread, and loads of cheese and ham. This is a dish that needs to be prepared the night before baking, so all of the flavors can meld together perfectly. We like to use our own ham and this dish is juuuuust right with lots of LaGrander’s Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese.
Hearty Wisconsin Polish Sausage & Potato Skillet
Best when fried in a cast iron skillet, this Midwestern staple is often overlooked outside of ice shacks and campfires, but there’s nothing forgettable about it: Golden-brown perfectly crispy potato and our authentic Polish Sausage cut into bite-sized pieces and enjoyed slowly with a steaming cup of strong coffee. What a way to start the day!
Bellinis & Bacon
For those with smaller appetites, we see nothing wrong with simply cooking up your favorite Nolechek’s bacon and serving mom the crispy strips alongside a few sweetly fizzy Bellinis. Bellinis are the sweet cousin of Mimosas, made with peach puree and Prosecco. We like ours served with our Raspberry Chipotle Bacon and fresh fruit or good, fresh bread. Enjoy a Sunday FunDay with mom!
Happy Mother’s Day,
